Chieng Lau village is the place where Thai Black people live, they live along streams with long-standing rice cultivation. To enter the village you have to cross the bridge: “suspension bridge''. It has just been built to help people here easily across. You will walk through the rice fields to the village and meet the locals to learn about their life, culture and customs and reach the Cham stream (2-3km). 10:30 am: Continue to visit Water wheel (hiking 2.5km)

Water wheel is the great invention of the Thai and Muong ethnic people here, marking the development of our own agricultural literature. They are handmade structures used for irrigation of farmland – mainly rice paddies. These clever machines lift water above river banks to provide sustenance to higher fields and homes. After the water is raised by the wheel it flows into long pieces of bamboo that are cut in half. The lengths of bamboo are used as aqueducts to redirect water to where it’s needed- it is all done without electricity, harnessing the natural energy of streams and rivers.

11:30 am: Driver takes you back to the Jungle Lodge, break for lunch (Lunch is included in the tour price)

Afternoon: Hieu village - Duck farm – Hieu waterfall - Brocade weaving village – Uoi village

1:30 pm: Driver picks you up move to visiting the duck farm – Hieu village – Hieu waterfall (20 km by car/motorbike)

The driver takes you to Hieu Village and starts an easy trek. From there , follow the small road, trail through the terrace, rice fields, and jungle to reach Hieu Waterfall. The waterfall is about 800m in length, with the stream falling from the top of the mountain. The waterfall has no mud and no moss. The water of this stream has a lot of limestone materials, creating solidifications between the background and the sides of the stream, causing the trees and objects to be petrified. At the foot of the waterfall, there is a swimming area with a water level of more than 1m, allowing visitors to freely play and swim.

The Hieu waterfall may have less water during the dry season (from November to April or even May of the following year); however, the cool and refreshing water will still be sufficient for you to soak in and cool off amidst the scorching weather.

Move to duck farm within Hieu village where you can see Cổ Lũng duck - a speciality breed of Pu Luong. The duck has a plump body, short legs, a large neck, and a plumage color similar to that of a sparrow, with a white border around the neck. The duck is low in fat and has a unique flavor. The meat is not tainted, and when boiled, is fragrant even without spices.

3:00 pm: Continue trekking to the brocade weaving village at Uoi village and Lan village (8km easy trekking – estimate 2 hours).

At the foot of giant limestone mountains, surrounded by stretching terraced fields, and green palm hills lie the villages of Uoi and Lan.

Lan Village was a place renowned for weaving traditional fabrics for the entire Pu Luong region. People from within a 70km radius would come here to exchange woven fabrics. Each traditional handicraft product has a story embedded in it and is a valuable folk cultural treasure of the Thai people residing here.

They would then use these fabrics to tailor traditional clothing for their family members. For Thai women, beauty is not the most important aspect; what matters is the ability to weave clothes for their husbands and children and excel in farming. That's why when you come here, you only see women weaving fabrics.

6:00 pm: Driver will pick you up at Uoi village and take you back to Jungle Lodge. Journey's end.
